BE Printing: custom printing solutions by Basementia Enterprises

Terms, Conditions, Limitations and Disclaimers

Everyone knows we live in a society of litigators. There are people out there who are so pathetic that they will intentionally put someone else's dead finger in their own chili, just so they can file a lawsuit against a restaurant. In order to protect ourselves from insane people like that, our legal team has advised us we should have all our customers read these terms and conditions, even though we already know that most of our customers, the huge majority, are reasonable, honest, likeable people. We love you guys! Sorry that we have to spell this out in such gory detail... it's because of all the crazy people.

By using this website, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Product details

Some full sheet print sizes will be delivered with a blank border of 1/4". Any product sized 8.5" x 11" or 8.5" x 5.5" will print with a 1/4" blank border around the edges. Items on the "Photo Prints" page are described by the size of the printable area; these items are sized to fit and delivered with a blank border of size which is determined by the photo dimensions.

All other items are priced "with bleeds." For best results we recommending sending a file with industry-standard bleeds that extend 1/8" past the finished size.

Graphics Files

Graphic design: Not included.

The prices listed on this website do not include graphic design or file preparation of any kind. Graphics submitted to the print shop should be print-ready with no adjustment necessary. Please refer to our graphics file setup guidelines for information on how to make your file print-ready. For trouble-free integration, contact Basementia Design and have them design and set up your graphics files for you.

Proofing: The client's responsbility. Please have your file correct before you send it to us. We do not send you a proof for your approval. If you pay for a job and upload a graphic file, we will print it, unless there is a technical problem with it, in which case we will attempt to contact you.

Proofreading for spelling, punctuation, and grammar are solely the customer's responsibility. We are not your fourth grade teacher with the red pen and the gold stars.
Some of our website's products and services (such as our business card creation tool by Basementia™) feature an online proof. In a few of those cases, depending on the visitor's browser settings, the layout of the online proof may be somewhat different from the final product. In such cases, we will attempt to adjust long lines to prevent awkward word wraps.

In all other cases and in all other ways we will print exactly what you send us.

Terms of Business

Prepayment: All orders must be paid, in full, in advance. No exceptions.

Turnaround: Most orders ship in two to three weeks. After we ship your order, please allow time for the shipping method you have selected, from Portland Oregon. Please do not create stress by scheduling events that will occur before your print job will be ready. Sometimes orders may ship sooner; sometimes they take an extra couple days, depending on our workflow or stock availability. Though we make every effort to send out every order in a timely manner, BE Printing will not be held liable for delayed shipments: these things happen sometimes in the print industry. See also the limitation of liability, below.

Quality Assurance: Guaranteed. We are proud of our high quality printed materials.

In the unfortunate event that you should be dissatisfied with your order, please send it back to us with an explanation of what is wrong with it. We will replace your order or refund your money; solely at our discretion. Any shipping cost incurred in returning items to us shall be the customer's responsibility.

Pay for Color: If you pay for a black-ink only print job, but you send us a full-color file, we will print it in black ink only.

Orders on Hold: During the checkout procedure, some items may have a button that says something like, "I will supply the file later." If you click this button, your payment will be processed, but your order will be put on hold. The idea is, when your file becomes ready (for example, when you remember which disk it's on) you can upload or e-mail it to our graphics department and we will get started as soon as possible. This might allow us for example to order stock for your item even if your in-house graphic designer is still arguing with your boss over the shade of blue in the background.

However, we hate to have projects hanging over our heads for a long time. After two weeks, we will begin contacting you periodically to see if the graphic file is any closer to completion. If, after six weeks, you are still unable to supply us with a graphic, we will deduct a $20 processing fee, and refund the balance of your payment to you.

Payment accuracy: Please be careful to send a print-ready file that matches the description of the order you are placing. For example, if you pay for 50 copies of a 20 page document, but you e-mail us a 50 page file, this is considered a payment discrepancy.

In the event of a payment discrepancy, we will attempt to contact you. If we are unable to contact you, or if for any reason after three weeks the payment discrepancy has not been remedied, we will deduct a $20 processing fee, and refund the balance to you.

Limitation of Liability: In all circumstances, regardless of situational details, the maximum limitation of our liability shall be to either replace your order, or refund your money, at our sole discretion, in accordance with our Quality Assurance Guarantee, above. By using this website you agree that we will not be held liable for any damages relating to our goods or services, even if we made an error or were otherwise at fault.

We really mean it:

If the laws in your state or province would act to nullify any of the above terms and conditions, then you are hereby barred from placing any order on this website. We are too busy printing high qualtiy promotional products for busy professionals.

Paper Cuts and Other Safety Warnings

Please be aware of the following safety concerns:

None of our products should ever be used as a flotation device or safety restraint of any kind.

Please do not stuff our printed materials down other people's throats, as it may choke them, or cause esophogeal abrasions.

Paper will burn if you get it too hot. Do not store paper products in close proximity to any heat source, such as a fireplace, furnace, radiator, barbecue, gas stove, oven, bonfire, chiminaya, or model rocket launch site.

Sometimes a crisp new sheet of paper may cause a type of injury commonly known as a "paper cut." While painful, paper cuts are rarely life-threatening.

In order to prevent paper cuts, always handle paper with caution. If you are concerned about the possibility of paper cuts, take preventative measures, such as wearing long sleeves, gloves, and goggles, to lessen the likelihood of being sliced open by a piece of paper.

If you do sustain a paper cut type injury, always clean up blood immediately and dispose in a proper manner to prevent the spread of bloodborne pathogens. Most paper cuts heal without even a band-aid, but if you receive a particularly nasty one, or if you're just really, really paranoid, consult your medical professional to see if you might need stitches, or possibly a straightjacket.
