Limitations and Indemnifications
Limitation of Liability: This website is owned and operated by BE Printing, a department of Basement Productions, Inc. doing business as Basementia™ (Basementia, We, Us, Our, or the Company). Your use of this website and all services offered on it shall be bound by the following terms. By using this website, You (You, Your, the Client, or the Customer) agree to be bound by the terms of the following legally binding agreement which limits Our liability. Your use of this website shall be bound by these terms, without exception, into perpetuity. If You do not agree to be bound by these terms, You may not use this website and You are specifically prohibited from ordering from or otherwise making contact with Us.
In all circumstances, regardless of situational details, the maximum limitation of Our liability shall be to either replace Your order, or refund Your payment. The decision of whether to refund or replace Your order shall be made solely at Our discretion, in accordance with our Quality Assurance Guarantee, below. Under no circumstances shall Basementia™ be held liable for any amount in excess of the total paid to Us by the Customer. By using this website, You agree that We will not be held liable for any loss or damages relating to Our goods or services, even if We made an error or were otherwise at fault. By placing an order on this website, You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Basementia™ and all its officers, employees, subcontractors and suppliers, and You agree to forego any and all claims of restitution, liability, tort claims, special claims, or any other claims.
We make no warranty as to the usefulness or efficacy of printed promotional materials.
Our online design tool and other website features are offered as a convenience. We make no guarantee as to the speed or efficiency of these systems. We shall not be held responsible for loss of data, loss of time, system failure, malfunction, or any other problem, whether it related or unrelated to Your use of this website or the broader Internet in general.
We really mean it:
If the laws in your state or province would act to nullify any of the terms and conditions set forth herein, then you are hereby barred from placing any order on or otherwise using this website.
Graphics Files
Graphic design services are not included in the printing price.
You may create your own layout at no cost with our online design tool. In all other circumstances, the prices listed on this website do not include graphic design or file preparation services of any kind. Graphics submitted to the print shop must be print-ready with no adjustment necessary. Please refer to our graphics file setup guidelines for information on how to make your file print-ready. If you cannot prepare a print-ready file, please contact Basementia Design and have them design and set up your graphics files for you.
Proofing is the client's responsbility. Please have your file correct before you send it to us. We do not send you a proof for your approval. If you pay for a job and upload a graphic file, we will print it, unless there is an obvious technical problem with it, in which case we will attempt to contact you.
Proofreading for spelling, punctuation, and grammar are solely your responsibility. We will print exactly what you send us.
Terms of Business
Quality Assurance: Guaranteed. We are proud of our high quality printed materials.
In the unfortunate event that you should be dissatisfied with your order, please send it back to us with an explanation of what is wrong with it. We will replace your order or refund your money; solely at our discretion. Any shipping cost incurred in returning items to us shall be the customer's responsibility.
Turnaround: Most orders ship in less than ten business days. After we ship your order, please allow time for the shipping method you have selected, FOB Portland Oregon. Please do not create stress for yourself by scheduling events that will occur before your print job has been delivered. Sometimes orders may ship sooner; sometimes they take an extra couple days, depending on our workflow or stock availability. Though we make every effort to send out every order in a timely manner, Basementia™ will not be held liable for delays in production or shipment: these things happen sometimes in the print industry. See also the limitation of liability, above.
Prepayment: All orders must be paid, in full, in advance. No exceptions. We accept checks, money orders, or credit or debit cards via PayPal. A purchase order is not a valid method of payment. Please do not send cash in the mail.
Pay for Color: If you pay for a black-ink only print job, but you send us a full-color file, we will print it in black ink only.
Payment accuracy: Please be careful to send a print-ready file that matches the description of the order you are placing. For example, if you pay for an item that will only be printed on one side but send us a file that is meant to be double-sided, this is considered a payment discrepancy. Similarly if you purchase document printing services and pay for 50 copies of a 20 page document, but you send us a 50 page file, this is considered a payment discrepancy.
In the event of a payment discrepancy, we will attempt to contact you. If we are unable to contact you, or if for any reason after three weeks the payment discrepancy has not been remedied, we will deduct a $20 processing fee, and refund the balance to you.
Orders on Hold: During the checkout procedure, some items may have a button that says something like, "I will supply the file later." If you click this button, your payment will be processed, but your order will be put on hold. When your file becomes ready you can upload or e-mail it to our graphics department and we will put it in our workflow at that time. Our turnaround is ten business days from the day we receive your final, print-ready file. We hope this will help your department to quickly resolve the dispute between your in-house graphic designer and your boss over the shade of blue in the background.
However, we hate to have projects hanging over our heads for a long time. After a few days, we will begin contacting you periodically to see if the graphic file is any closer to completion. If, after four weeks, you are still unable to supply us with a graphic, we will deduct a $20 processing fee, and refund the balance of your payment to you.
Paper Cuts and Other Safety Warnings
Safety is always important; and laughter is the best medicine. With this in mind, please be aware of the following safety concerns:
None of our products should ever be used as a flotation device or safety restraint of any kind.
Please do not stuff our printed materials down other people's throats, as it may choke them, or cause esophogeal abrasions.
Paper will burn if you get it too hot. Do not store paper products in close proximity to any heat source, such as a fireplace, furnace, radiator, barbecue, gas stove, oven, bonfire, chiminaya, or model rocket launch site.
Sometimes a crisp new sheet of paper may cause a type of injury commonly known as a "paper cut." While painful, paper cuts are rarely life-threatening.
In order to prevent paper cuts, always handle paper with caution. If you are concerned about the possibility of paper cuts, take preventative measures, such as wearing long sleeves, gloves, and goggles, to lessen the likelihood of being sliced open by a piece of paper.
If you do sustain a paper cut type injury, always clean up blood immediately and dispose of bio-waste in a proper manner to prevent the spread of bloodborne pathogens. Most paper cuts heal without even a band-aid, but if you receive a particularly nasty one, or if you're just really, really paranoid, consult your medical professional to see if you might need stitches, or possibly a straightjacket. Basementia™ will not be held responsible for the cost of your treatment or incarceration.
